Presidential Compound --

It was early in the morning, the birds were chirping outside their window, or rather the video feed of birds chirping outside what would have been their window - if their living quarters weren't moved deep inside the compound, holographic windows and a courtyard gave the impression they were still using the Ryder's old living space.

Jon was tracing his finger across some of the scars on Bella's bare back. Ever since they decided that they were better together, they had taken time each day to spend together. No comms, no meetings, no interruptions. Although lately that was more in the beginning of the day, pushing off their usual 'start' time a couple hours. Finding they both enjoyed the morning more for their 'together time'.

"I think it's my turn to make breakfast. Not that I'm trying to fatten you up, but you never eat during the day. Lunch is usually just coffee and a power bar." Jon commented as he kissed her neck. "Maybe something filling. Use up some of those berries from Trinity Ryder... I'm thinking crepes."

“Crepes sound wonderful.” Bella said as she sighed pleasantly under his touch. Though truthfully she’d rather he didn’t get up. But they had unavoidable meetings today and they were ready pushing their schedules back further then they should. They needed this time though more then anyone would ever understand.

"Then crepes it is." Jon said as he held her close and kissed her lips again. "I've gotten so used to us spending these mornings together lately. How did we ever survive before?" he got up and pulled his soft slacks on and looked around. "Did you put anything on before we went into bed? If so... can't find your sleep shirt."

[Isabella price]

“No.” Bella said shaking her head. “What was the point? You would have just taken it off anyway.”

[Jonathan Price]

"True... " Jon nodded his head. "I think we're becoming 'naturalists' like Kassie and Jason... why do you think it always takes a minute or so before she answers?" he shrugged his shoulders."Of course she IS pregnant and probably in the loo." he winced slightly. "Speaking of Jason... young Jason and MC are coming home from that field trip tomorrow. Have you heard anything from Jack?"

“No I haven’t.” Bella said as she pulled the covers tighter around herself. “I haven’t really heard anything from since we had that meeting. He asked us to trust him. I’m trying really hard to do that and trust that for whatever reason he has in the dark it’s for the best.”

"Aye, although it has been nice having the twins around and Carly... I still miss Cece. More than I thought I would. Never realized how much I leaned on her." Jon said and sighed as he looked at Bella. "But we soldier on eh luv? Your father's reports have been increasingly humorous... which means he's getting annoyed with coming up flat." he slipped into his slippers. "I really don't mind if you just wear that sheet to the table. Or nothing at all..." he wiggled his eyebrows. "Blimey it's like after we first got married."

“I could do nothing at all.” Bella said with a grin as she let the cover fall away.

"You've gotten cheeky lately." Jon said as he and Bella walked out of the bedroom and made their way to the kitchen. "Despite everything apparently my... our approval numbers have gone up." he opened the small fridge and pulled out the ingredients. "I am still shocked Dominus has... played nice. Even though there are a few places he's been seen but we're not sure if it's really him or another alternate but whatever it is, people give him a wide berth. Soong's resort is... covertly prepping just in case."

“I’m still not sure how I feel abut that.” Bella admitted. “They’re people too.”
