War Room

[Solara]

The connection was cut suddenly while Solara was in the middle of a brutal memory. On instinct she yanked the knife from her boot, spun around, and pressed it to Jonas’s throat. Her hesitation was the only thing that spared him the look in her eyes was a perfect mirror of Bartyn’s.

[Bartyn]

"Hey... I'm not the bad guy here." Jonas raised his hands and handed her the inhibitor. "Block him out..."

"Kill him girl... you're a child of K'n'zy... it's in your blood!" Bartyn said through the door.

"Shut the fuck up man!" Jonas shouted back

[Solara]

“What the hell is going on?” Bella asksd as she stepped into the room. A knife she didn’t see anyone throw sank into the wall next to her head.

Solara put the inhibitor on and sank against Jonas. Her mind went blissfully silent. She escaped Bartyn’s mind but she couldn’t help feeling like she’d left a piece of herself behind.

[Jonas Calhoun]

"Bartyn got in her head... too much too fast I think." Jonas said as he kept his arms around Solara. "Not sure what she got but he seems pleased with himself." he pointed to the cell. "I'd drop that cell in Lake Riker and call it a day."

[Solara]

“Not until we know what she found out.” Bella said firmly as she took a step closer. “We need to know as much about Bartyn as she can other then the fact he looks like our father.”

“Fuck off bitch.” Solara spat sounding a bit like Bartyn. “I’m done being your toy.”

“Solara...” Bella trailed off stunned by Solara’s words and the coldness in them.

[Jonas Calhoun]

"Solara... find your center." Jonas said as calmly as he could and pointed at Bella. "This was your idea... rookie telepath going into someone like him?"

[Solara]

“Jonas.” Solara asked softly, her voice less cold. She rest her against his chest and she breathed him. She needed to know if he was real or if she was still inside.

[Jonas Calhoun]

"I'm right here Solara." Jonas said softly. "This wasn't a good idea... and without Jack or someone decent to help her out... the fuck you thinking boss?" he said with a scowl to Bella.

[Solara]

There were several excuses Bella could give him. Instead she chose not it because it had been a stupid idea but they had to do it.

“Take her home Jonas.”

[Jonas Calhoun]

"Gladly." Jonas said with a hint of bitterness in his voice. "Maybe if you happen to find a decent telepath, you can have them come over and sort Solara's head out. Fix this mess you got her into." he pecked Solara's forehead. "C'mon... let's get out of here. "
