Now I'm starting to understand why Carly changed her name, left the Fleet and stopped doing active missions after she had to do what she did with Jackson's people."

“You said she’s alive?” Kinsey asked, sounding hopeful as she relaxed on a giant pillow next to a low table. “I watch Ophelia push her out of a shuttle.”

"Yeah she's not exactly reachable telepathically but she's alive." Jack replied. "I thinks he's working her own angle with one side of the Ajem'dasis. Just got this feeling that she's got it under control."

“Good,” Kinsey said as she watched him make tea.

He pulled off his jacket and vest and unbuttoned his shirt and put them over a chair in their 'living room'. "I do worry a little but the woman has survived a lot of decades without us, she'll survive this and probably come out stronger. Like us." he stretched a little and looked at her. "I did sort of spend a lot of time doing mental isometric exercise. I feel like... I finally sort of understand how my abilities work. Although your powers... still a little bit of a mystery. Your father... "

“May not be Xenexian or at least in part.” Kinsey said as she watched him remove his shirt and licked her lips. “It’s the only explanation for it and for what I sensed with that first planet.”

"Bears a little more study but honestly... I think you and I have had quite enough study of each other." Jack said with a chuckle. "Although I wouldn't mind knowing more, after all... that's not your original body and yet clearly there were Kinseys in other realities that had similar ability as long as they had a Tali'Zorha as a mother." he looked at her and smiled. "Still, at least we know we can more than defend ourselves... and other worlds if need be. I do fear we helped shift the balance of power, we shouldn't consider returning until after Dominus and Bellatrix and their brood are no longer a threat in this reality."

“I don’t mind when you studying me scientifically or otherwise.” Kinsey stated. “Once I get use to all of this perhaps, I’ll dig deeper into the mystery. Meditate on it or something. Right now, the expansion of your pod and this it’s all a bit…overwhelming.”

"Yeah I felt that way when I first saw it. I was expecting maybe ten times the size... but yeah... not 200 times." Jack replied. "Essentially this ship is more or less it's own self contained eco system, we can even grow things here." he poured himself and Kinsey some tea. "We'll hit the bar later... so... I take it dad probably yelled at you? Did they do anything to you while you were in that cell?"

“No they're our friends Jack. He yelled but nothing more.” Kinsey said as she reached for his hand. “He’s not Dominus. He was disappointed, angry, and confused. I did show him what happened before we left. Whether he’ll be able to make sense of it or not I don’t know.”
