When it Happens (Don't Mind Me)

[Liara]

“I helped Tali because she didn’t belong in that world, it wasn’t hers. It doesn’t mean I’m a good a person or I’m turning over a new leaf. Nothing could ever undo a lifetime of the things I’ve done.” Selene said as she followed him into the apartment.

For being over a bar it was modestly furnished and less spartan then what she was used to. No matter how long she stayed there she would probably never use half the furnishings. All she really need was a bed and a table.

[Clint Cross]

Clint nodded his head. "Yeah, hey... I get it, I really do. I think a part of mine never really thought of herself as a 'good person' just a bad person who managed to do good things to fit in. I've done enough messed up shit in my career that everyone seems to gloss over too, because it's easier to ignore it than face it." he shrugged his shoulders. "You'll find there are more people like us than either of us realized there were. And look, as much as I want to try and pretend you're 'my' Selene, you're your own person. Still, you got a soft place to land. People that 'get' what's going on under that red hair. I think my Selene would have wanted us to help you at least find a little peace, even if you think you don't deserve it."

[Liara]

“You always give your new recruits this kind of pep talk?” Selene inquired with a smirk. "Or just the ones you know can kill you."

[Clint Cross]

"Little of both." Clint replied. "And recruits that I know have a lot of potential." he put the keys on the table and the bottle. "I spent a lot of time getting to know my Selene Lanara, Or Natasha. Or Abigail Singh. Course I am sure we barely scratched the surface but then again, we're spies and assassins, our whole deal is creating personas and lying and hiding the truth. It's what keeps us alive until the next mission. Continued survival just means we're good at what we do."

[Liara]

Selene smiled as she reached for the bottle.

“Never went by Natasha.” She said as she opened it and filled their glasses.

[Clint Cross]

"Really? Well that's good... Natasha was a bitch." Clint chuckled. "Didn't care about anyone or anything, just her mission. And she had horrible taste in men."

[Liara]

Selene laughed, “Well you probably won’t like Selene's taste in men then.”

[Clint Cross]

"Oh?" Clint said as he crossed his arms and looked at her with an amused expression. "So tell me a little about you. There is very little that you can tell me that would shock me, but I'm curious. Tali seemed pretty damaged, as strong and confident as she lets on, there's more to it. Of course, Tali I'm sure would drink me under the table in no time. Kinsey always managed to do that. So I'm sure her mother was even more of an iron liver. Selene and I could match each other shot for shot, but usually she won. Damn augment genes. Took reeeeally strong stuff to get her drunk. But put a gun in her hand and she'd sober up in a minute and snap into work mode. I took about five minutes, usually the time it took to put my quiver on and tension my bow. And yes... I use a bow and arrow... you'll be amazed at what low tech can do."

[Liara]

“Alright Cross.” Selene said taking the bottle and her glass over to the couch. “Let's play a game. One fact that will amaze the other equals one shot. I go first…I was in a relationship with Lucius.”

[Clint Cross]

"Okay you win." Clint said with a laugh. "Seriously? Guy's sorta handsome in a silver fox way but I dunno... our's was kind of a dick."
