Selene considered his words for a moment cocking her head slightly.

“Who was the other woman? My counterpart?” Selene inquired.

"Yeah... although you kinda got me into bed a lot faster than she did. It took us months. Course there were a LOT of extenuating circumstances." Clint rolled his eyes. "Every time we started to get comfortable, then Jackson would show up or K'n'zy or Imperium assholes. Frankly, if it wasn't for Ophelia taking prisoners, Selene wouldn't have been the only casualty of that night. And that was just an engagement party. Of Secret Service agents and spies... so yeah... clearly, Dominus and his 'kids' are not to be taken lightly. More I think about, we got super lucky with that kid we met and I think more and more that as tight as their control is, they're letting things slip through their fingers. ANYWAY... we're off duty, let's get some meat in you." he teased. "And then... ice cream. Plenty of strawberries."

“Oh don’t forget the sprinkles. Kaitlyn said I have to try the sprinkles too.” Selene reminded him with a laugh and shook her head. “There a moments when I don’t believe this. Not that long ago I was on Xenex doing a job for Jackson. I never imagined a world like this or someone like you. I never thought it was possible. Taking would talk about Jack and Kinsey and there were times when I thought she was making it up just so she could try to get me to help her escape.”

"Yeah I entirely get that. When I first met Selene, she was little Carly's protector. Neither of them really quite were used to freedom like this. That they could actually do what some people would consider mundane and normal. Like going out for ice cream. Shopping. Not seeing everyone as an enemy." Clint looked around. "You know the K'n'zy from Selene's reality, actually became 'Empress' of Xenex after she thought that Jackson was dead. She fucked Tiberius into making her an Empress. Its like she went from slave to dictator."

[Liara]

“I honestly can’t envision that but the only one I’ve know has spent her entire time with Jackson locked to something.” Selene said and gently touched his face. “But I know what yours did to you and what Kinsey did. If Jackson knew what power she had he’d want it. His version is useless.”

"Well that's why Dominus took our Kinsey and well... she destroyed worlds for him." Clint winced. "Still doesn't entirely shock me, Dominus basically treated K'n'zy as some kind of sex toy, shocked the living hell out of her and then Jackson got into her... and rest was history. Probably more than a few screws loose. Tried to do the same to Selene and Solara. Bella wouldn't let anyone do that to her, girl took more hits the last time she encountered Jackson, almost died, but she fought her ass off."

“You both made sure of it.” Selene smirked. “Five minutes of talking with her and I could see a bit of myself in her and you. She’s a good kid and I wouldn’t want to be her enemy.”

"It takes her a minute to get used to people sometimes, but once she feels safe with someone and bonds, she'll be your biggest defender." Clint said and smirked. "Kaitlyn's a shy little girl, at least at the moment, last month she was everyone's friend, then she got super shy, she's slowly opening up. It happens."

“It doesn’t help that I look like her mother but I’m not. I’m sure it’s confusing to her. Though I was surprised she could tell.” Selene said as they walked over to the restaurant. “Bella said it was something in my eyes. I didn’t know if she was just being her or if there really was something there.”
