Mother's Day

"Well, I am certainly better looking than Sirius Black," she joked. "If that is what you want, so be it. I would be honored."

"It is... and you are definitely better looking than Sirius Black." Natalia said and let out a blood curdling scream. "Holy... please tell me that it's closer?!"

"Yep... you're almost fully dilated... " Tess said and gave Aimee a look. "See.. relaxing the mother... it helps."

-- Twenty minutes later --

A gorgeous little red haired girl was wrapped in swaddling in Natalia's arms. Noonian was curled on the bed next to her as he looked at the sleeping form of his newest daughter.

"Have to say Miss Sandoval... you did well, didn't get too 'ick'd' out... kept your cool. I entirely see you with a Doctor before your name and a teal uniform... or a white lab coat. You don't HAVE to join the Navy to serve here as a doctor." Tess said as she cleaned up the tools. "I'll sponsor you as one of 'my own'. Not that it'll be easy, but I think you could be a great doctor. Like your mother is a great engineer. My youngest MD was 21, started when she was 16. Still plenty of time for a social life once you've got the title... even if there isn't much time for it in your teens."

"Psft... she can still have a social life." Natalia said with a yawn. "Lab geeks always like spending time with a pretty girl, I think I had more 'dates' in a lab or library than I did out. I didn't even know clubs existed until I was in my 20s." she kissed little Nora on the forehead. "Could be why I had this little one so late. Totally worth the pain. Although this little one will be your standing date for a few nights a week... "

"I'm fine. I don't like people anyway. I prefer books. They don't judge, and they tell me things more important than the latest fashion or they boy they're crushing on," Aimee said with a smile.

"There's more to life than learning," Rebecca said as she entered. She hugged Nick and kissed Natalia on the cheek. "Sorry, I'm late. I was taking care of things on Monastery when I heard the news. Congratulations dear."

"Thanks 'sis'." Natalia said with a smirk. "Heard about J'Larin... I'm sorry you two lost her... she'd pop up here when Nick was working sometimes, scare the crap out of me." she smiled slightly and sighed. "You look pretty good too... I like the curl in the hair, let me guess, a bit of unshielded energy? I used to have a low voltage panel that always did that to me if I had even the slightest bit of moisture... walk in completely straight haired, come out, looking like I had a perm. Now mom here... can't keep a curl to save her life. If you see a curl, it's copper wire."

"Is it?" She absently touched her hair, "I may have taken on a little bit." She smiled, "Jack was the hero though."

"So I heard... Nick and I were talking via comms while you were all in quarantine." Natalia replied and sighed. "I do hope that we won't hear from him for a while... I don't really quite feel like having to do without my husband now." she glanced at Noonian. "But I wanted to make sure my niece in law got her husband back. But now I'm going to be greedy."

"Whatever Jack and Becca did... it was crazy but at least we put some disarray into his forces." Nick said as he rubbed his neck. "Still don't think this all over but they know that they can't just roll in and not be met. I'm keeping the Tigris and I'm going to go out again if I have to. Provided my wife lets me." he chuckled. "Something tells me Alice got stuck with the orphan kids again, that little visit always turns into hours. They can't get enough of her."

"Kind of what I love about her, beauty, brains and heart... why the hell couldn't you have found her back then? Or even her mother..." Natalia teased.

"Wasn't meant to be at the time." Nick said and gestured to Khan. "Why couldn't you meet him sooner?"

"Touche." Natalia stuck her tongue out at him
