Chapter 8: Preperations

[Livvy Sandoval]

"Tell the Admiral that all we've done is turn the lights on. That's why you are here. As far starting a war? I have a feeling that a war with Earth is going to happen regardless."

[Diana Talon]

"Well, she said with it with a smile so I do not think she was entirely serious." Miki replied. "Then let's get this ship in space... our power cells aren't going to last forever and I really do not think you want to eat Dominion War era ration packs."

"How would you know they're nasty?" Diana raised an eyebrow.

"We're Miki's... we have long memories... and I distinctly remember a young Diana getting violently sick in her mother's shuttle and one of my 'sisters' had to clean it up after you at one." Miki said with a smirk.

"We are entirely wiping your memory cores when we get home." Diana chuckled and headed to her next repair. "Livvy, keep an open comm, even if it's just grunts, really don't want to lose you in the bowels of this ship."

[Livvy Sandoval]

"I'm heading to the bridge," she said. "I might be able to reroute structural integrity from the engineering console. I think thrusters are operational."

[Diana Talon]

"Be careful... but yeah if you can get thrusters back online, I can actually attempt to get the impulse engines working after we get shields and structural integrity." Di replied and gave Livvy a smile. "If we actually get replicators and environmental comfortable how about we camp out in the Captain's ready room, like we used to do on Grandma Angel's ship when we were kids. Besides, the boys aren't going to be meeting us until after we're actually in space. We need to do this kind of thing more often. Almost makes me wish I did finish the Academy, course I make better money and I have cooler toys."

"It's not all about the money," Livvy said as the site to site nabbed her and deposited her on the bridge. "I get to invent and improve the cool toys you play with," she finished over the comm as she materialized.

She frowned in sadness. Cut off from the rest of the ship. and unable to escape the bridge crew still sat at their stations. "Di.... Don't come up here okay." She shuddered involuntary. They had not had a good death. There was no honor in dying of oxygen deprivation. Gasping your final breaths before passing out. It was no way for a warrior to die for that was surely who they were. Warriors of the truest sense of the word. "Di can you send Miki up here. I'll need her help."

[Diana Talon]

"We brought plenty of Mikis with us." Di replied. "Although you do know i've seen worse... remember that Romulan ship that we salvaged, the crew died within an hour of launch, the environmental controls were tampered with and changed the atmosphere to toxic levels, everyone died within minutes and the ship was at Warp 8 for weeks until it was fired on by Klingons and actually dropped out of warp. We had to go in with EVA suits because it was so toxic smelling inside the ship with all the decomposing bodies." she winced. "I'll help you out up there once we get shields restored and the main power back online."

"No sense if putting this image into your mind if you don't have to," Livvy said. "Miki and I will take care of it," she said with reluctance. "We need this ship. It isn't distinctly Alliance which will attract attention, and there's a lot of former Federation ships running about working as cargo haulers and mercenaries that it won't attract any undue attention."

[Diana Talon]

"And once I install the Ghost core, we'll be able to phase cloak." Diana replied. "Helps that I have access to old Section 31 tech." she slid through a jefferies tube and used an anti-grav belt to float all the way down to Engineering. "By the way... how messed up IS the bridge anyway? Do I need to pull out consoles?"

[Livvy Sandoval]

"The bridge itself? It looks mostly intact. The operations console looks damaged beyond repair, but we can temporarily move it to one the aft auxiliary consoles."

She leaned over the engineering station, and looked it over, "The good news the computer core appears undamaged. I'm getting some excellent diagnostic information from all over the ship. Now, this is interesting... hang on." Her fingers danced over the console, and the ship came to life as systems long since dormant hummed to life. "Main power is back online. We have impluse engines, and structural integrity is holding at 38%."

[Diana Talon]

"Alright... that'll help. Hey look... blinky lights!" Diana said as she slid through the jefferies tubes thanks to a zero g generator in her suit. "Oh that totally helps make this place look less like a haunted house." she kicked open a hatch and shone her beacon through the corridor "On the engineering deck... warp core is... shot. Which is good." she looked around and hummed. "AliceCore should install pretty easily then. Hey Livvy... " she shone her beacon on the MSD. "Watch the outer hull... deploying the 'spider' now." in a shimmer of light the 'Spider' was beamed onto the hull and in a matter of minutes began replicating and beaming in new deck plating and repairing under the 'skin' systems. "Once the hull is spaceworthy, we'll get her in open space and then get to work on the nacelles so we have warp drive."
