When it Happens (Don't Mind Me)

[Liara]

“God, I hate Vodka and Russian. I hate Russian.” Selene said with a shake of her head. “Wait. So if you knew I wasn't crazy you'd tried to date me? Exactly how drunk are you Cross?"

[Clint Cross]

"Yeah not my favorite." Clint agreed. "Even the universal translators had a rough time with it. Vodka's only good in the Bloody Mary's at Leo's. Then again it's not a drink as much a meal. There's like a cheeseburger slider, a huge pickle, a beef stick, shrimp, celery, an egg, whatever else they can shove into a beer glass on a stick. Joe refuses to make that. "You want a drink you order a drink you want a meal you order a meal.' It's some weird Midwestern thing that Nick grew up with."

[Liara]

Selene looked horrified at his description.

“I like Joe too.” Selene stated matter of fact.

[Clint Cross]

"He's a good guy, worth every penny we don't pay him. Naval Intel pays for this whole place, I think he probably makes more than any one with what he gets from the visitors that think this is just a regular ol' dive bar." Clint chuckled. "And the Xenexian Homebrew still Kinsey keeps in the basement. Wouldn't be shocked if Tali already got it running. I think Joe was getting sweet on her already."

[Liara]

“I suppose I’ll have to make up for pulling a knife on him then.” Selene said with a frown. “Since Tali is involved I guess sleeping with him would be out of the question.”

[Clint Cross]

"Hey your call. I think Tali's still sorting things out. Apparently her ex and Kinsey's father is some kind of higher plane being that took the form of or hosted a Xenexian." Clint shrugged his shoulders. "By the by... how long HAVE you known Tali'zorha?"

[Liara]

“Two years.” Selene replied. “Jackson brought me in to keep an eye on her.”

[Clint Cross]

"Well Tali's sort of part of my intel team now, kind of taking over for Kinsey, so you'd still be able to work together." Clint said as he shook out the last drops of the bottle into their glasses. "I'd be your boss sorta. You work and play well with others or are you still the loner?"

[Liara]

“Still a loner but I’ll adapt if that’s what you need.” Selene said as she finished off the last of the bourbon in her glass. “Guess this means we have to go downstairs now or does your bartender deliver?”

[Clint Cross]

"Tipsy already Lanara?" Clint teased.
